Eligibility Criteria:   The eligibility criteria of a candidate to appear in TET are as follows:

• Candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
• Candidate must have minimum academic and professional qualification as per NCTE norms as follows

Educational Qualification: Minimum Qualification for appearing in Lower Primary TET (classes I to V)

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary
Education (by whatever name known)
OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary
Education (B.E1.Ed)

OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education
(Special Education)
OR

Graduation and two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)obtained from any NCTE
recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in class I to V, provided the
person so appointed as teacher will have to mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in
Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of such appointment as primary
teacher.
However, a candidate *fro is pursuing and having Admit Card of final year examination of any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCl, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Guideline dated 11th February,2O11, may also apply for TET. However he/she can apply for appointment only after acquiring all the required qualification.

Remark: Candidate admitted into 2 year D. El. Ed program before 3l"tAugust 2009: Please refer
to Clause B under subheading Relaxation.

Minimum Qualification for appearing in Upper Primary TET (Classes Vl to Vlll)

Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR

At least 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post Graduation and B. Ed

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary

Education (B. El. Ed).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./8. Sc. Ed. Or B.A.

Ed/B. Sc. Ed.

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B. Ed.(Special Education)

Note: Minimum percentage of marks in graduation shall not be applicable to those incumbents who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or equivalent course prior to the 29th July, 2011.

However, a person who is pursuing and having Admit Card of final year Examination of any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCl, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Guideline dated 11th February,2011, may also apply for TET. However he/she can apply for appointment only after acquiring all the required qualification.

Remark: Candidate admitted into 1-Year B.Ed. program before 31"1August 2009: Please refer to

Clause C under subheading Relaxation.

Relaxation: Following relaxation will be applicable

Relaxation up to 5 % in the academic marks in HSSLC or Graduation shall be applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PWD(PH) to appear in TET (The degree of handicap in case of PH candidates should be minimum 40% and to be certified by the competent authority) both for Paper-I (LP Level) and Paper-II (UP Level)

For Paper-l (LP Level) relaxation up to 5 % in HSSLC marks shall be applicable for candidates who were admitted in 2-Year D.El.Ed before 3110812009 as per NCTE Notification No. F.51- 1/2009-NCTE (N&S) dated 3l"tAugust 2009 and qualified 2-Year D.El.Ed subsequently.

For Paper-ll (UP Level) relaxation up to 5 % in Graduation marks shall be applicable for candidates who were admitted in 1-Year B.Ed. before 3110812009 as per NCTE Notification No. F.51-1IIOO}-NCTE (N&S) dated 3l"tAugust 2009 and qualified 1-Year B.Ed. subsequently.

Exam Pattern: Assam TET 2021

Paper l will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Lower Primary level (classes I to V)

• Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory) — 30 MCQs 30 Marks 
• Language I - Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Bodo, Manipuri, Garo, Karbi, Hmar (compulsory-any one) — 30 MCQs 30 Marks 
• Language II - English  (compulsory) — 30 MCQs 30 Marks 
• Mathematics ( compulsory) — 30 MCQs 30 Marks 
• Environmental Studies ( compulsory) — 30 MCQs 30 Marks 

 All(150) questions will be of MCQ type; each question will carry 1 mark

Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Upper Primary level (classes Vl to Vlll)

Mathematics & Science or Paper II- Social Science (Studies) (for class VI to VIII):

Structure and Content:

• Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory) — 30 MCQs 30 Marks
• Language I - Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Bodo, Manipuri, Garo, Karbi, Hmar (compulsory-any one) — 30 MCQs 30 Marks
• Language II -English (compulsory) — 30 MCQs 30 Marks
• (a) For Mathematics and Science teacher: Mathematics and Science Or — 60 MCQs 60 Marks
• (b) For Social Studies teacher : Social Studies Or — 60 MCQs 60 Marks

 For any other teacher - either iv (a) Or iv (b)

Duration of examination: 2 1/2 hours (150 Minutes) for Paper-l and 2 1/2 hours (150 Minutes) for Paper ll. Additional 20 minutes' time (per hour) will be there for visually impaired candidates. 

Minimum Marks for qualifying in TET: A candidate is required to score 60 % i.e. 90 marks out of 150 to qualify the Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET). 

However, for SC/ST (Hills)/ST(Plain)/OBC/MOBC/PWD (PH), there will be relaxation of 5 % Thus, for these candidates, qualifying marks will be 83 out of 150 i.e. 55 %.

Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking.

• Read carefully the lnstruction Manual on how to submit the online application form.
• Submit Online Application and upload Passport size colour Photograph, Signature, Pass Certificate of Professional Qualification, Final Year admit card of ongoing professional course (in case of candidates pursuing professional qualification) of recommended size (as mentioned in lnstruction Manual).
• The candidate has to pay the fee through online banking/credit card/ debit card etc. he/she can take print out of the Online Application form.

IMPORTANT POINTS:

i. The Test will be only for Paper-l (Lower Primary) and Paper -ll (Upper Primary) as per the syllabus uploaded on the website of SSA, Assam.

ii. Candidates who intend to appear in both the papers i.e. Paper I and Paper ll will have to pay the

fee for both the papers separately and will have to submit Online Application accordingly at one go.

iii. Candidates must pay the examination fee through online mode only.

iv. Fee once paid will not be refunded.

v. Appearing/qualifying in Teacher Eligibility Test will not confer the right to claim for appointment engagement for any post of teacher. Teacher recruitment in government or private schools will be a separate process as and when vacancy arises.

vi. TET is only one of the qualifying criteria for applying for Teacher recruitment in elementary  levels schools.

vii. There will be no verification of documents in support of qualification etc. of candidates while appearing in TET. However, documents of a TET qualified candidate will be verified during the time of teacher engagement process by the concerned authority. ln case of submission of false information/claim regarding qualification etc. he/she will be criminally liable.

viii. Examination will be conducted in different Centers located in 27 districts as mentioned in point No. 9 i.e. District /Centre of Examination and candidate must mention his/her option for the District in the online application form.

ix. incomplete form will be summarily rejected. Candidate must be very careful while submitting the online application form. Claims for correction will not be entertained.

x. Before filling up of on-line application, the candidate has to go through the lnstruction Manual for online application.

xi. Candidates pursuing teacher education course will have to upload Admit Card of final year examination.

xii. Candidates will have to follow COVID protocol during examination time
